This page answers a simple question: what am I working on right now?
Work
I work as a DevOps Team Lead.
My main areas of work are currently related to Kubernetes and developing internal engineering practices:
- standardizing cluster configuration;
- automating changes at the node level;
- improving the security of secret storage;
- developing technical documentation;
- reducing manual operations and accumulated technical debt.
I also try to build processes so that knowledge does not remain only in the heads of individual engineers.
AI in engineering work
I use large language models as an everyday work tool.
Right now, I am most interested in:
- analyzing technical decisions and incidents;
- designing internal tools;
- preparing and reviewing documentation;
- reviewing code and finding potential problems;
- automating routine engineering work;
- organizing and preserving knowledge.
I try to use AI where it helps improve the quality of work, rather than simply generate a result faster. The engineer still remains responsible for validating the decisions.
Personal projects
I am developing several technical projects of my own.
My main focus right now is Tender Assistant, an internal tool for analyzing tender documentation. I am designing it together with the person who will use the system in their day-to-day work.
I also continue to work on my personal infrastructure and small tools that help automate everyday tasks.
This website
I continue to develop ashikov.ru as a personal knowledge base of engineering experience.
I plan to publish:
- practical guides;
- technical notes;
- reviews of incidents and mistakes;
- descriptions of implemented solutions;
- working approaches and lessons that can be applied in other projects.
The main goal is to preserve accumulated experience and turn it into material that is useful to other engineers.
Outside of work
Most of my free time currently goes to:
- family;
- apartment renovation;
- personal projects;
- learning;
- cycling.
